03/03/2007 Carrickfergus signs Birch and Ervine for 2008... The Club is delighted to confirm the appointment of South African all- rounder Colin Birch as Club Professional / Coach for the 2008 season. Colin made his first class debut for western Province in October 2006 and has already built up an impressive record in domestic cricket in South Africa. The Club is also delighted to announce that we have secured the services of 19 year-old Zimbabwean all-rounder, Ryan Ervine, for the 2008 season. Ryan, youngest brother of Zimbabwean international star, Sean, is Irish-qualified and will be hoping to impress Irish selectors during his time with Carrickfergus in the NCU Premier League.
