Carrick Rangers FC joined with Carrickfergus Cricket Club to celebrate their resepective successes in 2014. The event, held at the cricket club’s Middle Road headquarters provided an opportunity to recognise the recent sporting successes of both clubs. Local elected representatives were present to celebrate CRFC winning the Steel and Sons Cup and also CCC’s unprecedented success in winning 7 trophies including NCU Senior League, the T20 Trophy, the Ulster Shield and the All Ireland National Cup. This Grand Slam of trophies led to the cricketers being nominated as a Team of the Year in the recent Belfast Telegraph Sports Awards, a fantastic accolade for the entire Borough. In recognition of this success, the Cricket Club have introduced the awarding of Club Caps for those players who represent the club on the first XI. Each player will be awarded their own unique number and awarded a cap bearing that number.
