Carrickfergus Cricket Club is delighted to announce the re-signing of South African Professional Patrick Botha for the 2017 Season. 26-year-old Botha enjoyed a very successful first season at Carrickfergus CC, scoring 999 runs and taking 25 wickets.
His form has continued into the 2016/17 season back in South Africa, scoring 659 runs in 8 innings, including a First-Class high score of 145 in his role as captain of the Free State provincial side. Botha also featured in several games in the CSA T20 competition for the VKB Knights.
All-Rounder Botha’s experience will continue to be a vital asset for the Club as we look to build on our finish as NCU Premier League Runners-Up in 2016.
Carrickfergus CC Chairman Jim Nelson said “We are delighted to have Pat returning to the Club for the 2017 season. His undoubted class and experience was shown last season and we look forward to watching him on the field in 2017. Not only did he impress with his performances on-field last season, but his time spent with our younger players has really seen them improve and grow as players.”
