Carrickfergus CC Pre-Season details announced

Carrickfergus Cricket Club's pre-season indoor net practises commence this week in Carrickfergus Amphitheatre as preparations begin in earnest for the 2017 season.

The nets commence next Thursday, 9th March, from 7.30 until 8.30 pm for Under13/15's, and from 8.30 pm until 10.00 pm for seniors, and will continue every Thursday at the same time until 13th April.

Anyone interested in joining or rejoining the local club will be made very welcome. Just turn up at the Carrick Amphitheatre on a Thursday evening. Fully qualified coaches will be in attendance at all sessions.

The Club will again field 4 senior teams and a Mid-Week league team this season, with the 1st XI participating in the NCU Ulster Bank Premier League. Teams will again also be fielded in league and cup competitions at Under 17, Under 15, Under 13, and Under 11 age groups. For the first time this season Carrick will also field a ladies team

Expert coaching will be available throughout the season from a team of qualified coaches. These include returning overseas player/coach Pat Botha from South Africa, youth development coach the young Irish qualified New Zealander Jamie Holmes who is returning for a sixth season at the Club, and includes among others, Ryan Eagleson the current Ireland Under 19 coach and one of the few Level 4 coaches in Ireland.

The Carrickfergus Club, whose 1st XI finished as runners-up in the NCU Premier League season, is also one of the few in Northern Ireland that has achieved Sport NI Club Accreditation, which ensures that the Club can provide quality coaching and competition, effective management, and a safe environment for young people.

The Club's playing and social facilities at Middle Road are the envy of many clubs, with wickets that are rated as some of the best in NCU cricket, and clubhouse facilities that are second to none.
