Carrickfergus CC Pre-Season details announced

Carrickfergus Cricket Club's pre-season indoor nets start shortly in Carrickfergus Amphitheatre as preparations begin for the 2018 season, when the Club, founded in 1868, celebrates its 150th anniversary.

The nets commence on Thursday 15th March, from 7.30pm - 8.30pm for Under 13/15's, and from 8.30pm - 10.00pm for Seniors, and will continue every Thursday at the same time until 12th April.

All members are encouraged to attend, and anyone interested in joining or rejoining the local club will be made very welcome. Just turn up at the Carrick Amphitheatre on a Thursday evening. Fully qualified coaches will be in attendance at all sessions.

The Club will again field 4 senior teams and a Mid-Week league team this season, with the 1st XI participating in the NCU Premier League. Teams will again also be fielded in league and cup competitions at Under 15, Under 13, and Under 11 age groups. Carrick will also again field a womens team.

Expert coaching will be available throughout the season from a team of qualified coaches. These include the returning overseas professional player/coach Pat Botha from South Africa, and among others, Ryan Eagleson the current Ireland Under 19 coach who is one of the few Level 4 coaches in Ireland.

The Carrickfergus Club, whose 1st XI finished in 4th position in the NCU Premier League last season, is also one of the few in Northern Ireland that has achieved Sport NI Club Accreditation, which ensures that the Club can provide quality coaching and competition, effective management, and a safe environment for young people.

The Club's playing and social facilities at Middle Road are the envy of many clubs, with wickets that are rated as some of the best in NCU cricket, and clubhouse facilities that are second to none.

Full details can also be found at the club's website: www.carrickferguscricket.org and on the Club's Facebook page.
